Jay’s Survival Camp: Ortonville State Recreation Area, MI December 5-7, 2014

Join us for a weekend focused on learning to survive overnight in the woods with just the basics. We will be staying in the Ortonville Recreation Area using a group cabin for a base to start from. Friday night in the cabin we will go over important personal survival information based on what we discussed during the Pre-Trip Meeting on Wednesday November 19.

Saturday we will hike through the woods with only our survival packs using traditional map and compass techniques to Pinnacle Point and then return. Saturdaynight we will improvise shelters following Leave No Trace techniques and spend the night.

Sunday morning we will return to the cabin for a well-deserved breakfast and debriefing of our experience before returning back to Outdoor Adventures in Ann Arbor.

This a University of Michigan Outdoor Adventures Trip and registration must be made at (734) 764-3967. Cost for this trip is $150.00.

We also teach fire making techniques on Sunday!

During this event we practice a “Challenge By Choice” ethic by which no person is required to do anything they are not willing to do.
