17th Annual Christmas Eve Morning Float

The 17th Annual Christmas Eve Morning Float is on Friday, December 24.  There is no official coordinator for this event as the two persons who normally lead this trip are both working on that day.  So this is what is going on:

Meet at 10:00 am at Kruger Landing off Aurelius Road on the Red Cedar River.  Based on current weather conditions, the most likely prospect is to launch and paddle upstream to the Kalamazoo Street Bridge and float back.  For most persons, this is about 2 hours total paddling time without a lot of effort.

If you decide to go, be  at the parking lot at 10:00 am ready to paddle.  Be sure and have a spare set of clothes in a dry bag in case the unthinkable happens and you go swimming.  That means you need to be wearing a PFD, also.  Paddling in December is not for inexperienced persons!!!

  1. I am interested in the christmas eve float, but i do not know the location of the Kruger Landing, off Aurelius road. I get to email at the library every four days, but if you could call me with the directions, that would be most helpful. My tel # is 517 282 4443.

    Thanks,

    jeff flint P.S. Merry Christmas!

  2. Kruger Landing is north of Mount Hope and south of I-496 and east of Potter Park Zoo, kind of tucked away between Lansing and East Lansing.
