11th Annual Family Canoe/Kayak Trip on the Manistee River

Our 11th Annual Family Canoe/Kayak Trip will be Saturday and Sunday August 28-29, 2010 on the Manistee River.  Camping will be at the CCC Bridge State Forest Campground  Click here: CCC Bridge State Forest Campground Detail.  Most of us will meet there to camp on Friday, August 27.  Camping is on a first-come/first-served basis.  There are several other campgrounds nearby if it is full.

We will be floating from the campground down to M-66 on Saturday, with lunch at the Lower Sharon Bridge.  We will end Saturday’s trip at M-66 for a total of about 7 hours on the river.

Sunday we will float from M-72 down to the campground, which is about 4-5 hours, but we will make a day of it and have lunch on the river somewhere.

There are numerous canoe and kayak rentals in the area if you need boats, so just post a comment if you do, and I will list the liveries.  The river is suitable for all abilities and ages.
