4th Annual Big South Branch of the Pere Marquette River Overnight March 27-28

The 4th Annual Big South Branch of the Pere Marquette River Overnight will be on Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28, 2010.  We will meet at 9:00 am at the Custer Road Bridge parking lot at the mainstream of the Pere Marquette River on Saturday, March 27 about 1 mile south of Custer and US-10.  From there we will run shuttle upstream to the put-in and proceed downstream.

Please be prepared for paddling and overnight camping in potentially bad weather.  Good weather is always appreciated, but good raingear when the weather is bad is appreciated even more.

This is a self-guided trip and all participants are expected to provide all of their own gear and be prepared to take care of themselves at all times.

  1. I have not done anything but local kayak trips. I love the idea of a two day trip. I have one question. I presume that any camping stuff would have to fit into the kayak as there would be no vehicles except drop off and pick up? I have a basic 9 foot Otter with no real dry storage. I apologize for my novice question.
