The Lansing Oar and Paddle Club will be participating in the Youth Sports Day Event organized by the Mason Optimist Club. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Grovenburg/Wm Burchfield County Park. It will run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on that day only. There are many volunteer programs going on there at that time, and LOAPC has been asked to assist with kayak instruction in a beginner setting on the lake near the Grand River.
If any members wish to bring their own kayaks for display or demonstration purposes that is encouraged. There will be beginner-level kayaks available at the lake that are provided already. The main role of the Club is to provide basic instruction and to make sure that all participants are paddling with PFD’s, and to assure that nobody uses the kayaks without anyone’s knowledge.
We will have a Club display up and information about the Club to share during this time. Please feel invited to come out and have a good time sharing our love for the water and the youth in our community.
