This is a repost of an upcoming event. I encourage all LOAPC and LAWWP paddlers and anyone else who is interested in supporting the Club to come out and be present here.
As your LOAPC President, I cannot be the sole voice and representative of the Club. Let’s all get together, bring your favorite boat, and tell everyone who comes to the event why you love it. Nothing would be greater then to have a SPRAWL of boats around our Club display. Yeah!!!
The Spring Fling is being held at Bishop Lake in the Brighton Recreation Area and is hosted by the DNR. LOAPC will be present there with any boats that members can bring for display or test paddling. I have invited folks from the Kruger Memorial to also be there with us.
It is Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m. It is at the Bishop Lake Day Use Complex, 5700 Bishop Lake Road, Howell, MI.
There will be many other activities there besides the Club presence, including horseback trail riders, kite fliers, geocaching, the Sierra Club, canoe liveries, and mountain biking. We are only one item on the list of things to see and do.
I will have a modified version of the release form in the event that someone wants to borrow one of our boats. I will bring a solo canoe and solo kayak with PFD’s and paddles. Any other equipment brought will be put to good use, even if only for a display.
It is a good excuse to get outside and get paddling if you haven’t already done so this year. I have the complete flyer I can email to you if you contact Barney or myself.
